'Angina Hill' at Macleay Island - Gets Your Heart Rate Up.......Great for Some - Potential Killer for Others
TMR Disability Discrimination Complaint
Now that a rejection letter from Redland City Council has been received, we proceeded with the next stage.
A Disability Discrimination Complaint has been lodged to Transport & Main Roads (TMR):
‘MACLEAY ISLAND DISABLED vs REDLAND CITY COUNCIL’.
The Redland City Council rejection is clear evidence that Council breached the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (the DDA), and further defined in TMR documentation under ‘
Access rights under Disability Standards for Accessible Public Transport’
The Complaint Document is extensive and has 12 appendices as supportive documentations, with many photos of proof.
As TMR documentation is enshrined with the Disability Discrimination Act 1992, there is an avenue to lodge a Disability Discrimination Complaint for TMR to review.
TMR suggestions to resolve the issues raised, will come in the form of ‘Mitigations’ are binding and Redland City Council, must act to resolve.
Don’t expect any resolution from TMR this year….they have a lot to digest.
It is difficult to present these issues on Facebook as it's impossible to explain context with such complex issues
Summary of Disability Discrimination Complaint lodged to TMR
This will be updated as we hear back from TMR
